York House project in Windsor

The Roofline Group are pleased to confirm we have secured the specialist waterproofing package on the prestigious York House project in Windsor with one of our long standing supply chain partners, Willmott Dixon.

We are due to install approximately 1800m² of varied systems including structural metal decking, built up bituminous and structural hot melt waterproofing with a green roof sedum finish. We will also be responsible for the rooflights, access hatches, aluminium rainwater goods and the roof safety system requirements on the project.

York House in Windsor serves as the council offices for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) and will be transformed into modern offices that look good and which fit in with the surrounding environment. The building will hold 300 staff and is being extended and refurbished internally to a CAT A specification with a contemporary and welcoming three floor space.

The existing pitched roofs are being removed and a new second floor extension is being added. The building will be over clad with and the existing windows replaced, widened and lengthened to improve the visual impact and increase daylight into the building.

A green roof will be added to the building to provide an attractive view for the adjacent residential owners and PVs on the roof will provide 10% of the entire buildings energy demand. The project also includes significant hard and soft landscaping with 92 parking spaces, five of which are disabled spaces, and 30 cycle spaces being reconfigured.

“This is an exciting project to have secured with Willmott Dixon, especially with the team at Farnborough whom we have worked alongside for many years. The project poses various challenges logistically with the building location so close to Windsor Castle, and directly opposite Victoria Barracks, where the New Guard and marching band depart before marching to Windsor Castle for the changing of the Guard. Our involvement from such an early stage has enabled our teams to overcome these hurdles together.”
