Winnersh Triangle

Winnersh Triangle, Reading

The Winnersh Triangle business park is the subject of a 15 year, £65 m redevelopment which will ultimately provide 2 million sq. ft (185,806 sq. m) of office space and around 20,000 jobs. The building design was driven by best practice in sustainability and incorporated a range of technical innovations. Achieving a high BREEAM rating was central to the redevelopment, with significant CO² reductions planned over standard office designs. Waterproofing warranty criteria were therefore of great importance, with particular emphasis on detailing. Solution As a key supply chain partner for Wates, The Roofline group were asked to provide a long term waterproofing solution which was also durable during the construction phase due to the huge podium areas that would be exposed to potential damage during construction phase. Duoflex Structural waterproofing was proposed by the Roofline Group. The system was ultimately specified because its durability enables it to be guaranteed for the lifetime of any structure. Duoflex was of particular value because of its suitability for application to detailing and upstands prior to phased works by other trades.
