Cressex Community School, High Wycombe, Bucks

The new Cressex Community School is now open for business, providing the most up to date and ecologically sustainable school within Buckinghamshire’s schools. Features of the project designed to transform the learning experience for pupils include;

  • Spacious flexible learning spaces allowing pupils to work on projects in groups, one to one or traditional classroom sessions with space to give practical demonstrations within the classroom
  • Staff may choose to transfer the pupils learning experience outside the classroom within one of three out door courtyard areas provided as teaching spaces such as drama in the amphitheatre or maths & science courtyards to underpin the learning experience with practical demonstrations
  • Fully serviced classrooms spaces with IT rich areas within each subject area allowing students to access and research on the ‘web’ while at their desk or within the out door curriculum areas using wireless technology
  • ‘WOW ‘ feature’s include a ‘see through’ courtyard roofing system, environmentally friendly systems such as using the ground to heat or cool the building and recycling rainwater to flush the toilets, make it the most advanced yet eco friendly school building in the area.
