Roofline secure new Eco-School

We are pleased to announce we have secured a further educational project working alongside one of our longest supply chain partners, Willmott Dixon, namely Barton Farm in Winchester.

Roofline have been involved from a very early stage in the project and have liaised with the Hampshire County Council Architects and Willmott Dixon’s design team to ensure a tailored solution which will achieve the sustainable performance required. We are due to install approx. 1500m² of specialist waterproofing consisting of a bituminous felt system with a wildflower sedum blanket finish.

The single storey, 420 place Barton Farm Academy for children aged 4-11 at the Kings Barton housing development site once complete will feature a main hall, holistic music and drama studio, ‘discovery point’ library, staff room and workspace, administration offices and parent waiting rooms. The decision to have the school was in response to 2,000 new homes being built on the Barton Farm site thus creating a need for further school places.

The school will target a BREEAM Excellent energy efficiency rating to provide a sustainable learning environment when it opens in September 2020. We are due to commence our installation in June 2019.

“We are pleased to have been involved from an early stage to assist in the design on such a prestigious and exciting new Eco-School in Winchester and is testament to our strong supply chain partnership we have built with Willmott Dixon throughout many years”
